A cam-loaded rope clamp and ascender, the RESCUCENDER is a simple to install clamp for rope ascension and work positioning from the experts at Petzl. With a removable axle the RESCUCENDER can be clamped at any point on the rope, and a locking pin prevents accidental unlocking of the system Use as a backup belay device, for hauling heavy loads or, more simply, as a progress capture device. Designed for use with single ropes, from 9 to 13mm in diameter. The set up slides easily on the rope, clamping when loaded. It even simply descends if the cam is prevented from engaging. If overloaded the cam allows the rope to slip to prevent damage or impact forces. A rugged spring-loaded design helps prevent shock forces and damage to the unit. Disconnection requires two separate actions making it difficult to do accidentally. The curved design spreads the load over an area of rope minimizing any damage that could occur to the rope.
